OpenAI API Guide

To use our AI Chat Support Module, you'll need the Pro version of LOGISTACK.
1) Create/choose an OpenAI account & project
- Create an account - https://platform.openai.com/signup.
- Login to your account - https://chatgpt.com/auth/login.
2) Make an API key (keep it secret)
- Go to API keys → Create new secret key. Store it somewhere safe, easily accessible for the installer, delete after successful install https://platform.openai.com/api-keys.
3) Pick a model
- For cost-effective chat: GPT-4o mini (fast + cheap). Flagship: GPT-4o - GPT-4o is standard for LOGISTACK.
4) Account Models
- Free: No access to API Keys
- Plus: £20 / month - more that adaquate for your needs - see below for chat pricing / rate limits.
- Pro: £200 / month - Unlimited access to GPT-5o.
5) Pricing (as of 29 Sep 2025, USD)
- GPT-4o mini (text): $0.60 / 1M input tokens, $2.40 / 1M output tokens - ~4 characters per token on average (in English).
- Responses/Chat endpoints aren’t priced separately; tokens follow the model’s rates.
